Nightlife activities in Pererenan Village, Mengwi District, Badung have finally been halted. The Badung Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officially sealed Nectar Lounge and Club on Friday (March 13, 2026) at around 10:00 WITA.

The closure was carried out after officers found that the business did not have the required permits. Although it was packaged as a restaurant and lounge, activities at the venue were in fact operating like a nightclub.

Several Satpol PP officers arrived at the location at around 09:30 WITA. The team then installed an official notice ordering the suspension of all activities by posting it on the doors of the premises, both at the main entrance and other side doors. This firm step was taken to ensure that management stops all operations until the business permits are complete and in accordance with their intended designation.

Satpol PP also issued a strong warning to the owner and management. If there is any attempt to reopen the venue secretly, officers will not hesitate to take stricter action.

One of the measures includes installing a Pol PP Line or Satpol PP security line around the premises as a clear sign prohibiting any activity.

This enforcement action also serves as a firm signal to business operators in Badung not to disguise nightlife businesses as restaurants or lounges. The local government emphasized that all businesses must comply with licensing regulations before operating. Ironically, during the sealing process, not a single representative of the management was present at the location.

Head of Satpol PP Badung, I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara, emphasized that the measure was taken to ensure there are no more nightlife activities disguised as restaurant or lounge operations. Officers installed prohibition signs at several strategic points to prevent unauthorized access.

“As promised, today we carried out the sealing by installing prohibition notices. We placed them at the front entrance and the side of the building,” he said on Friday (March 13).

According to Suryanegara, when the notices were installed, no management representatives were present at the venue. However, that did not prevent officers from taking action because Satpol PP had previously questioned the management’s legal team.

From the examination, it was confirmed that the business, which combines a restaurant, bar, and nightclub concept, does not yet have an official operational permit. Therefore, Satpol PP immediately took steps to temporarily close the venue.

“The bottom line is that the management does not yet have the necessary permits. Therefore we took firm action by shutting it down,” he explained.

Satpol PP stressed that the venue can only reopen once all required permits have been fully completed in accordance with regulations.

“Before the permits are issued, all activities must remain suspended,” he added.

However, Satpol PP does not rule out taking even stronger action if further violations are found. If management insists on secretly reopening operations, officers will immediately install a Pol PP Line, marking a total sealing of the premises.

“In the future, if Nectar operates secretly, we will immediately move to stricter measures. There will be no second or third warning — we will directly install the Pol PP Line,” Suryanegara stressed.

Suryanegara also admitted that his office does not know exactly when the venue started operating. In fact, the location is easily accessible as it is situated along the roadside in the Pererenan area.

“We do not know exactly when it started operating,” he concluded.

As previously reported, Satpol PP investigators together with an integrated team conducted an inspection at the location on Wednesday (March 11) after information about nightlife activities at the venue went viral on social media.

The inspection revealed that the business only possessed a Business Identification Number (NIB) registered through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.

However, the document cannot be used as the basis to start business operations. The OSS registration only serves as an initial administrative requirement for obtaining permits and is not an operational license. Despite this, the venue had already begun operating.

Content posted on Nectar Club’s social media also showed activities at the venue, including foreign DJs, female foreign waitresses, DJ booth setups, VIP and VVIP table reservation systems, and minimum spending requirements of up to IDR 45 million, all of which are typical features of nightclub operations.
