WORLD.WARTAGLOBAL.id - The Ministry of Transportation has commented on the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) operation to apprehend one of the officials of the Central Java Railway Directorate General (Ditjen Perkeretaapian Jawa Tengah) in Semarang on Tuesday (11/4).

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, stated that they have not received any official information regarding the matter yet. "As of tonight, Tuesday (11/4), we have not received any official information about this from the KPK or other parties," Adita said in a written statement.

"We are still waiting for an official statement from the KPK to determine the next steps," Adita emphasized.

Although she could not comment further, Adita stated that the Ministry of Transportation is ready to support various efforts in eradicating corruption. Furthermore, the Ministry of Transportation is ready to collaborate with the authorities after receiving official information about the issue.

"The Ministry of Transportation fully supports various efforts to eradicate corruption and will collaborate with the authorities in this matter."

This statement was made after the KPK arrested an official of the Central Java Railway Directorate General (Ditjen Perkeretaapian Jawa Tengah) during the operation in Semarang on Tuesday (11/4).

The operation is related to a suspected bribery case involving a tender package for track layout (TLO) at Tegal Station.

"There were several people arrested, including officials from the Central Java Railway Directorate General, the project's commitment maker (PPK), and private parties," said KPK's Head of News, Ali Fikri, in a written statement on Tuesday (11/4).

The KPK team also arrested several other individuals in Semarang, namely Ani, Yanto, and Yuni, who served as the Treasurer of the Central Java Railway Directorate General.

In addition to Semarang, the KPK team also apprehended several other parties who were the PPK and private parties in Jakarta.

"In Jakarta, Muhamad, Dion (private), and Fadly (PPK) were apprehended," said a source from CNNIndonesia.com within the KPK.

"The temporary evidence collected amounts to around Rp350 million, with an ATM containing around Rp300 million, Rp900 million for the PPK in Makassar, and US$20,000 for other parties. They are currently being questioned at the Semarang City Police," the source added. (World*/)
