BALI  Indonesia
The Minister of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Andrianto, inaugurated the Immigration Patrol Task Force (Satgas) in Bali on Tuesday (August 5th), affirming Immigration as the Leading Sector in the Supervision of Foreigners. The inauguration ceremony, held at Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, was attended by approximately 500 participants from Immigration, Corrections, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and Pecalang (Chief of Police). In addition to the Directorate General of Immigration, the inauguration was witnessed by the Governor of Bali, the Speaker of the Bali Provincial DPRD, the Bali Police Chief, the Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Command, the Head of the Bali High Prosecutor's Office, and several heads of vertical agencies and provincial agencies in Bali.
"The formation of this Immigration Patrol Task Force is a follow-up to the President's directive to ensure stability and security in Bali as one of Indonesia's premier tourist destinations," explained Agus. The legal basis for the Immigration Patrol Task Force includes Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, Article 66 paragraph 2 letter b, and Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 31 of 2013, Article 181.
Agus further explained that the Patrol Task Force was established to provide a quick response to violations; to suppress violations of regulations by foreigners in Bali; and to provide a sense of security to the public.
To ensure effective patrols, the Task Force will involve 100 immigration officers, each equipped with a safety vest and body camera. Officers will patrol using motorcycles or immigration patrol cars at 10 strategic locations within the Ngurah Rai and Denpasar Immigration Offices, including: North Kuta (Canggu); Seminyak, Kerobokan; Matahari Terbit and Benoa Harbors; Pecatu (Uluwatu, Bingin); Mertasari Beach;
Kuta and Gianyar (Ubud) Districts; as well as Nusa Dua, Jimbaran
