
DENPASAR — Word Warta Global.Id. Bali's tourist glitz is again tinged with a serious note about the behavior of some foreigners. In a week-long operation, the Regional Office of the Directorate General for Immigration in Bali nabbed 66 Foreign Nationals (WNA) from 27 countries who were indicated to be committing immigration offences.
The crackdown was the result of Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol being set up in the working area of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Denpasar, Singaraja, Klungkung and Tabanan.
66 is not just a statistic.
Underneath the numbers are issues of concern: residency abuse, overstay, to safety and public order.
24 WNA HAS BEEN SUSPECTED OF USING A RESIDENCE PERMIT
From the results of operations, violations were dominated by 24 WNAs indicated to be abusing residence permits.
