Bali Regional Police Dismantles Drug Network Involving Foreign Nationals from Uzbekistan and Russia.

WORLD.WARTAGLOBAL.id - On Tuesday (May 30, 2023), the Bali Regional Police, through the Directorate of Narcotics (Ditresnarkoba), uncovered a drug trafficking case on the island of Bali involving foreign nationals (WNA) from Uzbekistan and Russia. The disclosure was made in a press conference held at the Front Yard of the Ditresnarkoba Building of the Bali Regional Police.


The press conference was led by the Deputy Director of Ditresnarkoba, Bali Regional Police, AKBP Ponco Indriyo, S.I.K., M.H., and attended by the Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations at the Bali Regional Police, AKBP Ketut Ekajaya, S.Sos., the Head of Sub-Directorate II of Ditresnarkoba, AKBP Abdus Salim, S.Sos., the Head of Division of Operations and Planning of Ditresnarkoba, AKBP I Made Joni Antara, S.H., as well as journalists from various media outlets.


AKBP Ponco Indriyo, S.I.K., M.H., explained that the Bali Regional Police's Narcotics Directorate successfully uncovered a drug trafficking network involving several foreign national perpetrators. Each perpetrator was arrested at different locations and involved in drug trafficking.


"The team from the Narcotics Directorate of the Bali Regional Police has arrested 6 foreign nationals and 1 Indonesian citizen involved in the drug distribution network. The perpetrators with the initials AB (Uzbekistan), MA (Uzbekistan), YO (Uzbekistan), KM (Russia), KD (Russia), RD (Russia), and SU (Indonesian citizen) were arrested at different locations with evidence worth approximately 887 million Indonesian rupiah," said the Deputy Director of Narcotics.


AKBP Ponco Indriyo, S.I.K., M.H., added that different pieces of evidence were seized from each perpetrator. AB and SU were arrested in front of Hotel Ramayana with evidence of 1,678 grams of net weight of marijuana, 67 grams of net weight of hashish, and 3 airsoft guns. The perpetrator with the initials KM was arrested at a rented house on Bidadari Street, North Kuta District, with evidence of 39.23 grams of net weight of marijuana, 129.25 grams of net weight of hashish, and 60.88 grams of net weight of cocaine. KD and RD were arrested on Yudistira Street, Tampak Siring Village, with evidence of 101.4 grams of net weight of marijuana and 7.54 grams of net weight of hashish. Meanwhile, YO and MA were apprehended at a boarding house on Kartika Plaza Gang Samudra, Kuta District, with evidence of 994 grams of net weight of the drug known as nazwar.



The Head of Public Relations at the Bali Regional Police stated that the Bali Regional Police remains committed to eradicating drug trafficking. In the disclosure of this case, the Bali Regional Police emphasizes its commitment to combating drug trafficking involving foreign nationals. The disclosure of this case by the Directorate of Narcotics of the Bali Regional Police, with evidence worth almost 900 million Indonesian rupiah, has successfully saved the nation's future generations from the dangers of drugs, estimated to be around 591,700 people.
