Police Officers Involved in Illegal Distribution of Weapons and Ammunition, Three Suspects Arrested

Friday, August 18, 2023

Jakarta, August 18, 2023 - On Thursday, August 17, 2023, the police authorities successfully apprehended three police officers suspected of engaging in illegal activities involving the distribution of weapons and ammunition. The operation, conducted across various locations in West Java, led to the arrest of the three suspects: Aiptu Reynaldi Prakoso, Bripka Syarif Mukhsin, and Iptu Muhamad Yudi Saputra.

Reynaldi Prakoso, a member of Krimum PMJ, is alleged to have been involved in supplying 1,500 rounds of ammunition from the police logistics to Dananjaya Erbening (KAP) and Syarif Mukhsin. Furthermore, he is also suspected of participating in the illegal development of weapons alongside Dananjaya Erbening.

Syarif Mukhsin, a member of Renmin Samapta Polresta Cirebon Kabupaten, played a role in the distribution of illegal weapons and ammunition linked to the Terrorist Suspect Dananjaya Erbening (KAP). Post-arrest searches revealed that Syarif Mukhsin was involved in modifying Air Gun pistols into firearms (senpi) for his associates. Information provided by Reynaldi Prakoso suggests that Syarif Mukhsin purchased 400 rounds of ammunition from Reynaldi Prakoso.

Iptu Muhamad Yudi Saputra, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the North Bekasi Polres Polsek, was also implicated in this illegal activity by supplying long-barreled weapons to Dananjaya Erbening (KAP), the main target in this case.

The National Police Chief, Police General Lestyo Sigit, emphasized that the actions of these rogue police officers engaged in illegal activities are a grave violation of ethical standards and the law. "We will thoroughly investigate this case and take strict actions against the perpetrators in accordance with the law," affirmed Police General Lestyo Sigit.

While initial steps have been taken, the case remains under further investigation to uncover deeper networks and potential impacts of the illegal actions carried out by these rogue police officers. The public is also urged to continue supporting law enforcement efforts and providing information that can aid the investigative process. However, this case raises doubts about the integrity and oversight within the police force, questioning how such actions could have occurred without earlier detection.
