The Head of Aceh’s National Narcotics Agency (BNNP), Brigadier General Pol. Drs. Marzuki Ali Basyah, M.M., served as a speaker during a Friday sermon session held at SMA Negeri 1 Montasik, Aceh Besar, on Friday (1/11).
The outreach event was attended by the entire teaching staff and around 500 students from grades 10 to 12.
In his remarks, the Head of BNNP Aceh emphasized that drug abuse can come from any background, impacting individuals from all age groups, including adults and teenagers, regardless of their educational background. High school students are not immune to the risk of being drawn into this issue.
“Teenage years are particularly vulnerable to the effects of drug abuse, as young people have a natural curiosity. Without a solid foundation in religious values and knowledge about drug prevention (P4GN), teenagers are more susceptible to being manipulated and influenced by drug-related criminal actors,” he stated.
He also urged students to be cautious in choosing friends and to look out for one another. If they notice a friend showing signs of drug abuse, they should immediately inform a teacher so that help can be provided as quickly as possible.
The event sparked a high level of interest from students, as evidenced by the many questions they asked about current drug-related issues.
The session concluded with a group photo with students and teachers from SMA Negeri 1 Montasik.
