JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Karyoto, conducted an inspection at the Pulogebang Terminal Security Post, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/26/2025). During the visit, he was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Police, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Kadishub), the East Jakarta Police Chief, and the Metro Jaya Police Chief.

In the activity, the Metro Jaya Police Chief also distributed food packages to travelers as a form of concern for the community who would return to their hometown.

"Today we and Kadishub saw firsthand the condition of the terminal, how travelers who use public transportation, especially buses. At present there has not been a significant surge," said Inspector General of Police. Karyoto.

He stressed that the aspect of safety is a major concern. The feasibility of the bus fleet used by travelers must have passed the test from the Department of Transportation and in a ready -made condition. In addition, the condition of the drivers is also the main focus by conducting a urine test to ensure they are free from drugs and health checks to ensure their fitness.

"Usually, a fit driver when checked for tension will show a healthy conditionIn addition, resting facilities at the terminal also need to be considered more so that travelers feel comfortable. Overall, the temperature of the air in the terminal is good, now the most important thing is safety in the trip, "he added.

The Kapolda also highlighted that five years ago the number of bus accidents was quite high. However, he hopes this year the homecoming flow will run smoothly with the principle of "safe and comfortable homecoming."

In terms of security, he assessed that the Pulogebang Terminal is now far more conducive than the condition of the terminal in the past, such as the Pulo Gadung terminal which was once known to be prone to crime. At present, security at the Pulogebang Terminal is tightened by the presence of TNI, Polri and Transportation Department personnel who are on standby 24 hours. In addition, CCTV monitoring that is scattered at various points further increases security for travelers.
