"BALI - Convicted defendant Youssef Arick Azoulay, 54, has undergone a verdict hearing at the Denpasar District Court, Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The tourist holding three passports (Israel, Portugal, Morocco) was found guilty of embezzlement at PT Solar System. The defendant, who was previously involved in a case of allegedly bringing a bomb to DIY Airport, was sentenced to three months of probation. Ironically, one day after the verdict was read by Heriyanti, S.H., M.Hum., as the Chief Judge, it is strongly suspected that the defendant has left Bali for Morocco.

In the verdict, the Chief Judge, accompanied by I Wayan Yasa, S.H., M.H., and I Wayan Suarta, S.H., M.H., as member judges, stated that the defendant was proven guilty of embezzlement, as stated in the first alternative charge. The judge sentenced the defendant to three months in prison, but suspended the sentence, pending the defendant's good behavior for six months.

However, it is suspected that Arick took advantage of the suspended sentence and left Bali for Morocco on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, around 6:30 PM WITA. This move has sparked attention from several legal practitioners.

They argue that when a foreigner commits a crime or violation and undergoes a trial, their identity should be handed over to immigration authorities. After serving their sentence, the individual should be processed again by immigration authorities. If it is true that the defendant has previously been problematic in DIY and now in Bali, the government should not turn a blind eye, as this individual, despite investing in Bali, is considered a threat.

Given that the defendant holds three passports, this is likely an administrative violation. If the defendant has already left Bali, they should be blacklisted or banned from entering Indonesia, particularly Bali.

According to reports, the man holds three passports: Israel (Azoulay Arik Yosef), Morocco (Azoulay Youssef Arick), and Portugal (Azoulay Arik Yosef). In Indonesia, he uses his Moroccan identity."
