The Legal Aid Institute (LBH) of FKPPI Bali Province has officially denied allegations that it engaged in unfair business competition and attempted to take clients from PT. Maxx's Group. This statement was delivered directly by the Head of LBH FKPPI Bali, I Gede Sugianyar, S.H., in a written statement on Tuesday (10/21/2025).
"We firmly state that these accusations are untrue and baseless," said Sugianyar.
He explained that his office, in fact, received visits from victims who independently sought legal assistance. According to him, LBH FKPPI provides access to legal aid for every citizen, especially those who feel they have been wronged and are seeking justice.
"Before providing assistance, we always verify the accuracy of reports and request valid evidence. Clients also sign power of attorney documents voluntarily and without coercion," elaborated Sugianyar.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the legal assistance provided is *pro bono* or free of charge. He stated that this is a form of his institution's moral and social responsibility to the community.
"Therefore, the accusation that we are engaging in business competition or attempting to tarnish the name of Maxxs Group is baseless and lacks clear legal grounds. In fact, the accusing party needs to prove their charges objectively and transparently," Sugianyar asserted.

LBH FKPPI reaffirmed its commitment to working professionally within the framework of the law, without business motives or any intention to discredit any party. "If any party feels aggrieved, they should focus on improving their own credibility and public trust, rather than blaming the party that is helping victims seek justice," he added.
PT MAXXS Group Office Closed, Employees Working From Home
Meanwhile, based on observations by *WartaGlobalBali* at the PT Maxxs Group office, located at Gunung Salak No. 33D, Padang Sambian Klod, West Denpasar, it has been closed for several days. Only three security guards could be found on site.
"The Maxxs office is closed and employees are working from their respective homes," one of the guards told the media crew.
This situation raises questions about the company's operations amidst a number of looming issues. The PT Maxxs Group office in Ubud is even reported to have been permanently closed since several months ago.
On the other hand, the company is advertising job vacancies via the Google platform. Circulating information suggests that these job openings are related to the termination of several employees allegedly involved in the viral issue of managing visas and passports for Foreign Nationals (WNAs).
Several media sources reported that the owner of PT Maxxs Group, AJW, claimed to be conducting an internal investigation. The company stated that there were individuals among the employees suspected of committing fraud in the process of making visas and passports for Foreign Nationals, leading to the terminations.
However, as of the time this report was published, confirmation regarding these employee terminations had not been obtained.
Report Already Filed with Bali Regional Police
In response to this issue, LBH FKPPI Bali has reported alleged criminal acts involving PT Maxxs Group to the Bali Regional Police. The official report is registered under number LB/B/726/X/2025/SPKT/POLDA BALI, dated October 15, 2025.
Based on collected evidence, the alleged incidents of fraud or embezzlement and/or Money Laundering Crimes (TPPU) are suspected to have occurred in December 2024.
The report cites multiple, layered articles: Article 372 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 378 KUHP, jointly cited with Article 3, Article 4, and Article 5 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes.
The legal aid process for the victims will be handled by seven legal representatives from LBH FKPPI Bali, namely:
1. I Gede Sugianyar, S.H.
2. Fitri Anisa, S.H., CTT., C.Med.
3. Ida Ayu Dwi Maryati, S.H.

5. I Nyoman Adhi Dharma Widyadnyana, S.H.
6. Ibrahim Basarewan, S.H., C.L.A.
