An alleged case of property damage and the removal of goods at Dharma Experience Restaurant in the Pecatu area of South Kuta, Badung, has escalated into a legal matter. The restaurant owner, Yulia Wahyuni Soetikno, officially reported the incident to the Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) on Friday (June 12).
The incident allegedly occurred on Wednesday (June 10) at around 4:30 p.m. WITA and involved several individuals. Two of them were identified as Dean Charles Morrison and Roro Mutiara Cahya Annisaa. The incident reportedly caused the victim an estimated loss of approximately Rp500 million. Yulia is now hoping that the investigation by the Bali Police will provide legal certainty.
The report was registered under Report Receipt Certificate (STTLP) Number STTLP/B/519/VI/2026/SPKT/POLDA BALI, based on Police Report Number LP/B/519/VI/2026/SPKT/POLDA BALI, dated June 12, 2026.
In the report, Yulia reported alleged property damage as stipulated under Article 262 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 477 of the Criminal Code.
According to the report, the incident began when Yulia received a telephone call from one of her employees. The employee informed her that several people had arrived at the premises and were allegedly damaging property and removing a number of items from the restaurant.
Upon receiving the information, Yulia checked the restaurant's CCTV footage. Based on the recordings, she claimed to have seen several individuals at the location who allegedly damaged property and took goods from inside the premises.
“Of the people recorded by the CCTV cameras, I recognized two of them. They are the Australian national Dean Charles Morrison and a local woman, Roro Mutiara Cahya Annisaa,” Yulia said.
The police report also mentions the alleged replacement of door locks, as well as the installation of chains and padlocks on several doors at the premises.
“As a result of the incident, I estimate that I suffered losses of approximately 'Rp500 million,” she said.
The case was subsequently reported to the Bali Police for further investigation and legal proceedings. Yulia hopes that her report will be handled professionally so that the entire sequence of events can be thoroughly investigated and clarified.
Amid the ongoing handling of the report, the victim has urged investigators to conduct a comprehensive investigation into all aspects related to the incident. Yulia also hopes that the legal process will provide certainty for her as the complainant and alleged victim, who claims to have suffered substantial material losses.
“My hope is, of course, to obtain legal certainty. I hope this report will be handled professionally and that all the facts surrounding what happened can be fully revealed,” Yulia said.
Meanwhile, when contacted separately, Bali Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Pol. Ariasandy, S.I.K., confirmed that the report had been filed. Police are still investigating the complaint, collecting evidence, and taking statements from relevant parties to establish the circumstances of the case and determine whether the alleged criminal elements reported by the complainant are present.
“Yes, we are still conducting an investigation,” Ariasandy said briefly.(×)
