DENPASAR, WartaGlobal.ID – Maxxs Group International has finally responded to allegations of fraud, embezzlement, and the alleged withholding of passports belonging to several foreign nationals, claims that recently brought the company into public scrutiny.

The company, which has provided legal and expatriate assistance services for more than 18 years, stated that the issues that emerged were not the result of flaws within the company's system, but rather the actions of several employees who allegedly abused their authority for personal gain.

Aji Wibowo, Owner and Founder of Maxxs Group International, revealed that the company had taken decisive action by terminating 33 employees at its Bali branch. Those dismissed included personnel from various levels of the organization, ranging from managers and supervisors to finance and legal staff.

According to Aji, an internal evaluation uncovered indications of data manipulation, administrative irregularities, misappropriation of client funds, and the issuance of invoices that did not comply with established procedures.

“These problems did indeed occur, but they were not caused by the company’s system. A number of individuals are suspected of abusing the trust and authority entrusted to them,” Aji said during a press conference in Denpasar.

Determined to prevent nearly two decades of reputation-building from being undermined, the company’s head office immediately initiated a comprehensive restructuring of operations in Denpasar and Ubud. The entire previous management team was replaced with new personnel considered to possess higher levels of integrity and professionalism.

In addition to the organizational overhaul, the company has conducted an internal audit and engaged independent auditors to ensure that all administrative processes and client services comply with applicable legal regulations.

Maxxs Group management also denied claims that thousands of expatriates’ passports were being withheld. Aji Wibowo challenged those making such accusations to provide verifiable evidence supporting their allegations.

As part of its commitment to accountability, the company has established communication channels for clients who believe their documents have not yet been received. Management guarantees that any verified and completed documents will be delivered within a maximum of 48 hours.

Throughout the controversy, Maxxs Group stated that it deliberately refrained from making extensive public statements out of respect for the ongoing investigation process. As a company specializing in visa services, KITAS and KITAP processing, and working in partnership with relevant government agencies, management emphasized that it would not evade its responsibilities toward clients.

“We are here to help expatriates comply with the regulations in Indonesia. We remain fully responsible and will resolve all outstanding matters gradually and transparently,” Aji affirmed.

As of the publication of this report, both the internal investigation and inquiries into the alleged involvement of several former employees remain ongoing. The company stated that any matters potentially involving criminal elements will be handed over to law enforcement authorities for processing in accordance with applicable laws.

“We have chosen to undertake a complete restructuring rather than allow our clients’ trust to be destroyed. The company’s integrity must be preserved,” Aji Wibowo concluded.
