Ngurah Rai Stands Firm:  Saudi Woman Overstays + Causes Disturbance, Immediately Deported. “I Didn’t Know” Is Not an Excuse

Thursday, June 11, 2026

The airport is not a place to cause a scene. Ngurah Rai Immigration proves it: Foreign nationals who overstay and violate public order are immediately removed from Indonesia. On Wednesday night, 10/6/2026, a 33-year-old Saudi woman with the initials ASAM was forcibly returned to Riyadh.

The message is clear: Bali has rules. Don’t understand the rules? You bear the risk yourself.

Timeline: From Causing a Disturbance at 08:30 WITA to Deportation at 21:55 WITA

1. Wednesday morning, 10 June 2026, 08:30 WITA: Airport security at Ngurah Rai reported a foreign national causing a disturbance in the airport area, disrupting comfort and public order.

2. Secured + Coordination: Airport security detained ASAM, then Badung Tourism Public Order Agency Satpol PP stepped in. Satpol PP forwarded the case to Ngurah Rai Immigration with a letter requesting deportation recommendation. Basis: Badung Regency Regional Regulation No. 7/2016 on Public Order and Community Tranquility.

3. Data Check: ASAM entered Indonesia on 7 April 2026 via Soekarno-Hatta Airport using a Visa on Arrival. Her stay permit expired on 6 May 2026. That means she had overstayed for over 1 month.

4. Excuse Rejected: ASAM claimed she didn’t know her stay permit deadline. She only realized it after her departure was canceled at Ngurah Rai Airport on 3 June 2026. She couldn’t pay the overstay fine because she lost her Bank Visa Card.

5. Decision: After coordination with the Saudi Arabian consular representative was completed, ASAM was deported on 10 June 2026 at 21:55 WITA on a Saudi Arabian Airlines flight to Riyadh.

Firm Statement from Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Head Bugie Kurniawan:
"Ignorance of the stay permit deadline cannot be used as justification for immigration violations. Violations of stay permit provisions may be subject to administrative sanctions and immigration actions in accordance with applicable regulations.”

“Bali immigration is fully committed to maintaining order, security, and comfort in Bali, especially in public facilities such as airports. This case serves as a reminder for all foreign nationals to always understand and comply with applicable stay permit regulations.”

Bugie also appreciated the quick synergy between Airport Security, Badung Tourism Satpol PP, and Ngurah Rai Immigration.

3 Hard Slaps for Troublesome Foreign Nationals in Bali:
1. “I Didn’t Know” = Not Absolute: VOA = 30 days + 1x extension for 30 days. The expiry date is clearly stamped in your passport. Claiming you don’t understand still means sanctions.
2. Airport = Red Zone: Causing a disturbance at the airport doubles your trouble. Not just overstay, but also a violation of Badung’s Public Order Regulation. Satpol PP can immediately recommend deportation.
3. Overstay + No Money , Deportation: Can’t pay the Rp1 million/day fine because your card is lost? Immigration can’t negotiate. The procedure still applies: prevent, detain, deport.

Immigration Bottom Line:
Ngurah Rai is the front door of the nation. There is no room for those who disrupt order and then hide behind “I forgot.”

Bali welcomes tourists, but Bali is also firm with violators.

Immigration Office Head’s Appeal: Check your passport, check your stay permit date, extend if needed. If you’re confused, ask Immigration directly. Don’t wait until Satpol PP detains you to panic.
