Different Fate in Jade Bali Party Case: DJ Deported, Organizer Lamine Allowed to Walk Free
BALI – Suspected of organizing an illegal nightlife party, Bali Immigration took firm action by deporting a foreign disc jockey involved in the event. However, unlike the DJ, a French national named Lamine, who was identified as the organizer, was released and only given a warning.
The handling of alleged work permit violations involving foreign nationals in an entertainment event at Jade By Todd English, located on Jalan Pemelisan Agung, Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung, remains under the supervision of the Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Head of Immigration Information Section and Chair of the Immigration Information and Communication Technology Team (TIKIM) at the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Putu Astina Purwanti, confirmed that authorities had investigated and examined both the foreign DJ and French national Lamine, who were suspected of being connected to the party.
The event had previously drawn public attention because it allegedly involved a foreign DJ working without the complete permits required under Indonesian immigration and foreign labor regulations.
“It is true that the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration had handled the foreign nationals. Of course, they were processed in relation to suspected misuse of their stay permits,” said Putu Astina.
Based on the results of the supervision, the DJ who performed at the event was found to have no valid work permit. Immigration authorities subsequently took firm action by deporting the individual on May 15, 2026. Meanwhile, Lamine, who was identified as the person in charge of organizing the event, was not deported.
According to the preliminary investigation, he was only subjected to administrative sanctions in the form of a warning letter and educational guidance to prevent similar violations in the future. Immigration officials explained that Lamine acted as the person in charge through a company (PT) that oversaw the event.
For that reason, the measures taken against him remain limited to supervision and coaching.
“Lamine himself was given a warning and education to prevent similar incidents from happening again, as part of supporting the investment and tourism climate in Bali,” she explained.
Responding to public questions regarding the different treatment between the deported DJ and Lamine, who only received a warning, Immigration stressed that each individual was processed based on their role and level of violation in the event.
If further violations or additional information strengthening the immigration violation allegations are discovered in the future, authorities have assured that further legal action will be taken in accordance with existing regulations.
“If there is any other information or violations to report, please submit them to us so we can follow up in accordance with the law,” concluded Putu Astina.
