Without Insurance, Drinking Mixed Wine, Continues on Ventilator and Dialysis. Russian Embassy Meets with BIMC Hospital. Friend with Initials "IG" Remains Silent When Confirmed

DENPASAR Bali Indonesia,

Bali received another blow. A tourist paradise turned into a nightmare for Anna, 50, a resident of Sochi, Russia. She arrived in Bali on May 31, 2026, with her friend, IG. Today, Anna lies critically ill in the ICU on a ventilator and dialysis.

1. CHRONOLOGY OF HELL: FROM LOCAL WINE TO KIDNEY FAILURE

June 11, 2026, the WartaGlobal Fact-Finding Team confirmed: Anna allegedly consumed unsafe local wine/drinks. The effects were fatal: methanol entered her body.

The medical consequences were brutal, according to the hospital:
1. Acute Kidney Failure: Requires regular hemodialysis
2. Brain Damage: Doctors fear Anna's brain function will be permanently damaged
3. Secondary Infection: Critical condition + requires new, exorbitantly priced antibiotics

Anna is currently in a coma and 100% dependent on a ventilator.

2. TERRIBLE BILL: NO INSURANCE = SELLING THE HOUSE
This is the most painful part, and it's an expensive lesson: Anna doesn't have travel insurance.

The reality of the bill:
1. First 3 Days: The bill reached 1.6 million rubles (approximately Rp295 million).
2. The hospital demanded a down payment: The hospital reportedly demanded a minimum of 50% payment before prescribing antibiotics.

3. The bill continued to balloon: ICU costs, ventilator, dialysis, antibiotics, and a 24-hour cash register.

It's very sad that Mrs. Anna, 75, in Sochi, was forced to sell her house to pay for the hospital and the cost of a medical checkup to return to Russia if Anna is stable.

The Russian expatriate community in Bali and social media have raised funds. But the figures are like drawing a blank.

3. ANONYMOUS: FRIEND WITH THE INITIALS "IG" REMAINS, EMBASSY INTERVENTS
The WartaGlobal team tried to contact Anna's friend with the initials "IG" via WhatsApp.
The result: no response.

This raises big questions: What did IG know about the drinks she consumed? Why the silence? Was there an element of "mixed drinks" being sold intentionally? The police must investigate.

Meanwhile, the Russian Consulate General has intervened. The WartaGlobal team learned that there was a meeting between the Russian Embassy and the management of BIMC Hospital. However, financial assistance from the Russian state for private hospitals is usually nil. The burden remains on the family.

Anna's tragedy presents three costly lessons for the 20 million tourists visiting Bali annually:
1. Mandatory Insurance: Without insurance, three days in the ICU can bankrupt a family. Rp295 million = the price of a type 36 house in Java.
2. Beware of Local Drinks: "Homemade" drinks, arak, or mixed wine = a gamble with your life. Just 10ml of methanol can blind you. 30ml can kill you.
3. Choose Official Venues: If you want to drink, go to a licensed bar/club. Don't be tempted by cheap prices that could end up in the ICU.

3 DAYS IN THE ICU IN BALI: IDR 295 MILLION. WITHOUT INSURANCE.
Russian tourist Anna, 50, is in a coma, allegedly drinking a mixed drink/methanol.
Now on a ventilator and dialysis. A 75-year-old woman in Russia was forced to sell her house to pay for the hospital.

1. 200,000 IDR travel insurance can save 300 million IDR
2. Mixed Balinese liquor/arak = poison. Cheap at the start, expensive in the ICU
3. Friends who invite you to drink mixed liquor and then keep quiet when asked? Be careful!

#TouristsRequireInsurance* if they agree, the Bali Regional Government will require insurance for tourists entering

Editor's Note:
1. The identity of "IG" has been deliberately disguised due to its lack of legal status.

2. The figure of Rp295 million = the ruble exchange rate on June 11, 2026.
3. The name BIMC Hospital was mentioned due to information about an embassy meeting. We await official clarification from the hospital
