The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Winarko, emphasized that this action demonstrates the Directorate General of Immigration's commitment to maintaining security and order in Indonesia.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office took firm action against a foreign national (WNA) from the UK with the initials GLS (male, 40 years old).

The person concerned had completed his sentence at Kerobokan Prison in Denpasar and was subsequently subject to administrative immigration action in the form of deportation.
GLS first entered Indonesia in December 2020 through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta using a Business Visit Visa. Despite using the visa, his primary purpose in arriving in Indonesia was tourism.

During his travels, GLS was involved in a criminal case of crypto asset theft and was prosecuted by Indonesian law enforcement. Based on the court's ruling, he was sentenced to five (5) years in prison for violating Article 365 of the Criminal Code (KUHP).

On Sunday (August 17th), after completing his sentence, GLS was handed over from Kerobokan Prison to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for immigration inspection. The investigation revealed that he violated Article 75 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, namely engaging in activities deemed dangerous, potentially disrupting public order, and failing to comply with Indonesian laws and regulations.

As a follow-up, on Wednesday (August 20th) at 7:20 PM WITA, the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported GLS via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on a Qatar Airways flight from Denpasar to Doha to London. He was also proposed to be placed on a travel ban to prevent him from returning to Indonesia.
