Knowledge will never be able to reside in a dirty soul. Therefore, Sukra Keliwon Sapuawu becomes the door of preparation: a process of silence, so that knowledge will later be used to nurture, not to destroy.
Interestingly, the Sukra Keliwon Sapuawu tradition is actually more popular than Banyu Pinaruh — a morning bathing ritual performed the day after Saraswati.
Even though both equally mark awareness of purification. The first cleanses to receive knowledge, the second cleanses after knowledge is received.
Thus, this paradoxical world teaches: purification is never complete, it is an endless circle.
Before knowledge comes, we are clean. After knowledge comes, we are clean again.
The body may be dirty with dust, the soul may be contaminated by thoughts, but humans always have a way to return to purity.
The beach becomes a mirror, the waves become a prayer, the brora leaves become a broom, and humans become pilgrims who never stop learning to cleanse themselves.
