Jakarta, WartaGlobal.Id – Illegal gold mining activities in Kusubibi Village, Bacan Barat District, South Halmahera Regency, have raised serious concerns. The unlicensed mining operations are allegedly involving certain officials, civil servants, and individuals with economic and political interests, exploiting weak oversight to gain personal profit.
In response, WartaGlobal.Id’s General Leader, Isbat Usman, declared a national media movement to expose the illegal mining network. He stated that 280 online media outlets and 17,000 affiliated media groups nationwide are united in their commitment to fight illegal mining and uphold justice without compromise.
“The Kusubibi illegal gold mine issue is not just about environmental destruction — it’s about morality, integrity, and standing with the ordinary people. We have gathered key data that will be submitted to Commission VII and Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI),” said Isbat Usman in Jakarta.
A strategic operation is now underway. WartaGlobal.Id, in collaboration with national and regional media, is launching a large-scale consolidation to uncover the mining mafia network that allegedly involves rogue elements from the military (TNI), police, and civil authorities. Through investigative journalism, the network’s financial flow and all parties operating behind the scenes will be publicly exposed.
Preliminary findings indicate the existence of a “monthly allowance system” paid to certain individuals benefiting from illegal mining. This scheme is strongly suspected to be a form of structured and systemic corruption, undermining the rule of law in the region.

Meanwhile, the people of Kusubibi are suffering the consequences — severe environmental damage, water pollution, and a decline in clean water access and fish resources. The local government, however, is widely criticized for turning a blind eye and failing to enforce regulations.
As a firm response, WartaGlobal.Id will soon launch a national investigative report titled “Exposing the Kusubibi Mining Mafia,” to be simultaneously released across its media network. This campaign aims to put moral and public pressure on law enforcement authorities to act decisively and bring justice to affected communities.
“This is not just a report — it is a moral struggle and a social responsibility of the media to the public. We are not chasing headlines; we are chasing the truth. This movement will stand as a symbol of resistance against Indonesia’s mining mafia and serve as a loud warning to those who attempt to conceal these crimes,” stressed Isbat Usman.
