
BADUNG, BALI —Word Warta Global.Id Indonesian policewoman AKBP Hety Padmawati of the Lampung Regional Police (Polda Lampung) received the Leadership Award at the prestigious International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Training Conference 2026, held at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The international recognition was presented to AKBP Hety in acknowledgment of her contribution, dedication, and leadership in the Indonesian National Police, particularly during her tenure as Chief of the East Lampung Police (Kapolres Lampung Timur).
The award comes as AKBP Hety has recently taken on a new assignment as Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation (Wadir Reskrimum) at the Lampung Regional Police.
Speaking after receiving the award, AKBP Hety expressed her pride in representing Indonesia and the Lampung Regional Police on the international stage.
She said the recognition demonstrated that women police officers are capable of competing professionally alongside their male counterparts while continuing to carry responsibilities in their families.
“I am very proud to represent Indonesia, especially the Lampung Regional Police. Through this award, I want to show that women police officers can compete alongside male police officers. We are not only police officers, but we can also fulfill our roles as wives and mothers,” AKBP Hety said.
She also expressed her appreciation to women police officers across Indonesia, both younger officers and senior members, for the support, guidance, and encouragement that have contributed to her professional journey.
AKBP Hety particularly conveyed her gratitude and respect to the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) for the institution’s continued commitment to promoting gender equality within the Indonesian National Police.
According to Hety, the leadership of the National Police has provided women officers with greater opportunities and attention to develop their careers and take on leadership responsibilities.
The recognition at the IAWP conference places the achievements of Indonesian women police officers in an international forum, while also highlighting the growing role of women in leadership within law enforcement institutions.
The IAWP Training Conference in Bali brings together women police officers and law-enforcement professionals from various countries to exchange experiences, strengthen professional networks, and discuss issues related to policing, leadership, and the advancement of women in law enforcement.
