Death at Clandestino Hostel Leads to Death: Mass Poisoning Victims Reveal Fatal Negligence in Canggu Police Line Not Installed

A heartbreaking tragedy occurred at Clandestino Hostel, Canggu, after a communal dinner attended by tourists resulted in the death of dozens of victims. One tourist was pronounced dead, while 10 others are still battling in intensive care due to severe gastrointestinal symptoms that struck simultaneously.
Despite the management's silence, the victims allege serious negligence. Leila Li, a survivor who spent up to $10,000 in medical bills and eight days fighting for her life in the ICU, voiced her disappointment. "The hostel treated us with utter indifference.
I was even billed for my bed while I was in the hospital," Li told the jurnalist in a disappointed and emphatic tone.
Worse, the hostel allegedly tried to conceal the facts with vague language and ignored both moral and legal responsibilities. In this state of emergency, police have not taken steps to close the hostel while the investigation continues, even though new guests are still checking in at the same location.

"We are very disappointed that at a time when lives are being lost, their priority seems to be only maintaining their reputation and business bookings," Li said. Authorities are now gathering evidence, including witness statements and food records, to uncover the root of the problem.

However, public scrutiny continues to demand transparency and justice, especially as this incident has shaken international tourists' confidence in the safety of Bali's tourism.

This incident is not just about one night of shared meals at a hostel — it is about lives, responsibility, and integrity that must be accounted for by managers in a global destination that relies on the trust of tourists.
