BADUNG, BALI — Word Warta global.Id. Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, inaugurated the Immigration Lounge Discovery Mall in Badung Regency on Thursday (27/8/2026).
The inauguration was attended by the Governor of Bali I Wayan Koster and General Manager Discovery Mall Bali Rachmat Hartanto Tanuharja.
The inauguration was part of a transformation of immigration services aimed at making it more accessible to the public.
Services that were previously synonymous with government offices are now present in the center of community activity, namely shopping malls in Kuta area.
Hendarsam stressed that the development of public service should follow the needs of people. According to him, Immigration Lounge is an innovation for more accessible services that are flexible, convenient and adaptive.
The public service must continue to evolve with the needs of society. The presence of Immigration Lounge in the shopping mall is one form of innovation to bring immigration services closer to people, said Hendarsam.
First at the Bali shopping mall.
Immigration Lounge Discovery Mall Bali is the result of a collaboration between Ngurah Rai's Immigration Office and Discovery Mall Bali. The facility is located on the first floor of Discovery Mall Bali, Jalan Kartika Plaza, Kuta, Badung Regency.
The unit became the first Immigration Lounge to operate inside a shopping mall in Bali. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday at 10:00 PM.
On the capacity side, it provides 40 passport service quotas per day. In addition, the facility can serve more than 150 applications for residence extension.
The services available include the issuance of a Republic of Indonesia Passport as well as various immigration residence permit services.
Government and private collaboration.
Hendarsam sees collaboration with the private sector as one of the keys to building an increasingly integrated public service ecosystem.
He praised the cooperation between the Immigration ranks and Discovery Mall Bali for bringing a service model that combines government service standards with ease of access in public spaces.
According to him, such innovation should still be carried out by prioritizing the standards of service, safety, professionalism and public interest.

The Immigration Lounge concept inside the shopping mall provides a different experience for applicants. After accessing the immigration services, people can avail of Discovery Mall Bali's facilities ranging from shopping malls to culinary and entertainment.
Its location in the Kuta Beach area is also a plus. Visitors can enjoy the beach area as well as various tourist activities around the shopping mall. The Kecak Dance Show, which is held every day before sunset, is also one of the area's attractions.
